President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had a work visit to Central Kalimantan Province for two days, from 26 to 27 June 2024. The President was scheduled to have official activities in five regencies, which were Kotawaringin Timur, Katingan, Barito Timur, Barito Selatan Regency, and Palangka Raya City.
Governor of Central Kalimantan, Sugianto Sabran, called for all oil palm plantation business actors to fulfil the obligation of constructing people’s plantation to deliver a sustainable development. (Further reading).
Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (Head of National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or known as AHY said, Detailed Spatial Plan (RDTR) was necessary for investors to develop their businesses in Central Kalimantan and other areas in Indonesia. “It is our duty to improve the validity of Detailed Spatial Plan and we are working on it,” said AHY in Palangka Raya. The government of Central Kalimantan Province collaborated with Bogor Institute of Agriculture to develop farming of mangrove crab (scylla serrata) by using silvofishery in mangrove ecosystem. Silvofishery was a concept in managing coastal resources, which integrated mangrove conservation and brackish water fish farming. (Further reading).
Acting Regent of Gunung Mas, Herson B. Aden, affirmed that regency’s public service mall employed some modern technologies to accelerate and facilitate public service. There are 123 services in the public service mall. Those are provided by 22 outlets involving ten local agencies, nine national institutions, one SOE, and two local-owned enterprises,” said Herson.
